Governing Body

The trust that governs the campus.

Janata Shikshana Samiti is a registered educational trust. Its Governing Body sets policy, safeguards the founder’s mission, and oversees every institution on the Vidyagiri campus.

The trust

A registered educational trust since 1952.

Founded in 1944 and formally constituted as Janata Shikshana Samiti in 1952, JSS is governed as a registered educational trust. Since 18 October 1973 its management has been held by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, with spiritual guidance from the Pejavara Math, Udupi.

The Governing Body carries the responsibility that the founder, Sri R. S. Hukkerikar, set out: to keep education at JSS accessible, value-based and answerable to the needs of the people it serves — while overseeing the academic, financial and administrative affairs of the trust’s institutions.
